For me to write I have to be in a free state. No obligations, no mandatory things prying me from writing, and last but least wanting too.
Most of the times as writers we hit creative blocks , writers blocks, and a loss of passion. While the candle is lit we can get a lot of things done, but when it's not it's a hassle trying to piece thoughts together. We hit a point in life where we gravitate towards things, people, and places that end up being our muse. But, what happens when your muse is boring you?
For me I like the old school bubble map. The main idea, setting, plot, climax, resolution, antagonist, protagonist, and supporting details so I want go in blind. I try to limit myself on watching TV my focus goes on people to see how they think, what they do, and what inspires them. I'm a water sign so I can easily feel the emotions of other easy but most of the time it's the conversations we have.
What drives me to this topic and why? This is a challenge because if I can't find a reason I must so I won't feel obligated to something that no longer serves me. Whether the reason is good or bad it still gives me my Yes or No answer. I'm a procrastinator so, that state of urgency to get shit done is like a rush for me. Things you might trip over I won't but, I won't allow you to block me.
Lastly, I have a safe space whether it's my room, outside, car, or whatever is your first go to. Do you have a safe place? Writing is my me time so it's something I don't do as a collective. Writing to me is a woman she can be eloquent, blissful, nurturing, kind, vicious, uplifting, embracing, flattering, and honest. What or who is writing to you? I love binaural beats, so it can be soothing for me to listen to before writing. I hope this helps this works for me. I'm open to new ideas and I hope you are too.
